Black Pepper
The peppercorns are picked when they start to turn yellow, fermented for a few days and then dried in the sun. This allows their envelope to wrinkle and turn black. Steam distillation of both whole and crushed, unripe or dried peppercorns produces black pepper essential oil. This gives a spice note that adds humidity to white florals and a clean beauty to woody fragrances.
