A limited-edition candle created in collaboration between perfumer Lyn Harris and painter Will Calver to celebrate this holiday season.
Inspired by the Dutch Masters of the 17th century, the pair worked side by side to distil painted idylls into scent — each one a doorway into their shared world, where still life is reimagined in olfactory form.
Here the iconic utility candle is adorned with a golden leaf, echoing Will Calver's SMOKE IN WOODS painting.
In SMOKE IN WOODS, the warmth of a distant fire rises through green leaf, myrrh and wet patchouli, grounded by oak, cedar wood, birch tar and cade. Dark yet ethereal, the smouldering mystery of hidden embers is revealed — an intoxicating lightness that lingers.
Notes
Galbanum, Patchouli, Oak, Cedar Wood, Cade.

Storage InstructionsStore your candle in a dry, temperate place, between 15 and 25°C. Be sure to make your first use within 2 months of receiving your candle.
A hand-poured, custom blend of wax, and wicks constructed with natural fibres
How to useFor the best performance, burn the candle for 3 hours at a time. Keep the wick trimmed regularly to approx. 5mm. Clean and remove the bulb after burning and recenter the wick. For the first burn, the candle must liquefy the entire circumference (if you don't, your candle will start tunnelling). If the flame is too small, carefully pour out liquid wax. Candles must be placed on a receptacle or heat-resistant surface. Do not burn the candle all the way down to the base; always leave 1cm of non-molten wax at the bottom. Do not set in a draft. Do not leave a burning candle unattended.

Bird And Lemon
A lemon glints in the still light, its skin polished like a time-past jewel. A feather falls silently into place — too deliberate to be chance — and the air stirs with intent.
Bergamot, white grape and apricot shine clear and crystalline, wrapped in the golden resins of myrrh, frankincense and opoponax.
What begins as ornament turns living — the jewel marked, its glow tempered by shadow. Nutmeg and clove smoulder beneath the surface, deepening into cedar and oak — a fleeting, restless presence that savours and departs, already seeking its next prize.

A delicate classic with a darker touch—peach, neroli and cardamom collide with sandalwood and shadow.
